Lan Gran Reserva, crafted by Bodegas LAN in the acclaimed Rioja region of Spain, is an outstanding example of a traditional Rioja with a modern touch. The wine is primarily made from Tempranillo and a small percentage of Mazuelo, harvested from old vines in the prestigious Rioja Alta sub-region, known for its limestone and clay soils which provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s structured elegance. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in a blend of American and French oak barrels followed by additional bottling aging for at least 36 months. This aging process imparts a harmonious blend of oak-induced complexities, softens the tannins, and enriches the palate with a velvety texture. The 2011 vintage has been praised across several wine competitions, recognized for its depth, balance, and superb aging potential. Bodegas LAN, established in 1972, utilizes innovative approaches in winemaking while staying true to the classic methods, reflecting the heritage and terroir of Rioja in every bottle.
