Fugue de Nenin is the esteemed second wine of Château Nenin, located in the prestigious Pomerol region of Bordeaux. Crafted predominantly from Merlot and blended with Cabernet Franc, this wine benefits from the unique clay-gravel soils renowned in the area, which contribute to its refined minerality and complex depth. The winemaking process involves careful selection of grapes, with vinification in stainless steel to retain purity of fruit, followed by aging in French oak barrels for about 18 months, which imparts subtle spiciness and well-integrated tannins to the wine. Despite being a second label, Fugue de Nenin often receives glowing reviews from critics for its excellent balance and more approachable style when compared to its grand vin. The heritage of Château Nenin, part of the Delon family estate since 1997, adds historical intrigue, as the estate itself dates back to the 19th century.
