The Dead Arm Shiraz by d’Arenberg, hailing from the famed McLaren Vale in Australia, is crafted from 100% Shiraz grapes. This wine gets its name from a vine affliction known as ‘Dead Arm’ caused by Eutypa Lata, which reduces the productivity of one arm of the vine, resulting in highly concentrated fruit on the other. The old vine fruit offers a complex profile. Traditional winemaking methods involve small batch fermentation followed by basket pressing. The wine is aged in a mix of new and used French and American oak barrels, enhancing its structure and depth with notes of vanilla and toast. Over the years, The Dead Arm Shiraz has received numerous accolades, including high ratings from international wine critics, underscoring its reputation as one of Australia’s iconic wines.
