La Playa Carmenere is crafted by Viña La Playa in the Colchagua Valley, one of Chile’s most renowned wine regions, known for its ideal climate and diverse terroir. This red wine is made from 100% Carmenere grapes, a varietal that thrives in the warm, sunny days and cool nights typical of the valley. The grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. In terms of winemaking, the wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit flavors, followed by aging in French oak barrels which imparts subtle vanilla and chocolate notes. The wine’s lush, full-bodied character and velvety tannins have gained it accolades and high scores from wine critics, cementing its reputation as a classic Chilean Carmenere.
